Rasbhari, a series featuring Swara Bhaskar in the lead role, is coming to Amazon’s Prime Video in June 2020. It all about the infatuation of a class 11 student for his English teacher. The concept is not new as well have gone through this phase but the quirky, unique story is quite different from the usual OTT fare. Rasbhari is penned by the writer of Badhaai Ho.
The series is about Shanoo (Swara Bhaskar), an English teacher at a school in Meerut. She has caught the attention of an 11th class student, Nand. This coming-of-age love story is the second time that Swara Bhaskar appears on a series for a digital platform. She appeared in It’s Not That Simple in 2016.
Swara describes her role in Rasbhari as something “that is rarely explored on screen,” and she hopes that the show will be a success. As described earlier, the mystery thriller tells the tale of a student who is infatuated with his English teacher.
Tanveer Bookwala is both the producer and co-creator of Rasbhari under the banner of Applause Entertainment. Nikhil Nagesh Bhatt is the director of the series.
The trailer for Rasbhari will be released around mid-June, and the series would be available for streaming on Amazon’s Prime Video from 19th June onwards. Rasbhari has 10-episodes and is set in Meerut, and it manages to present the aesthetics and local culture of the place with great accuracy.
